Foster-to-adopt is an option if you know you want a cat, but you need to see how it works in your home or with current pets.
Most of the cats listed on our site are already in foster homes. If you're interested in foster-to-adopt we'll consider moving them. Otherwise, we pair up available foster homes with new cats when they arrive.
We'll provide the supplies; you provide the care! Bottle babies must be fed every 2-4 hours, depending on age, and manually stimulated to pee and poop after each feeding.
If you don't have prior experience, we can train you!
Donated food and litter are made available to our fosters, but you must request them in advance. We can also provide donation receipts for your food and litter purchases.
Kitt Crusaders adoption events are on Sundays from 12-4pm in Larchmont (100 N Larchmont Blvd LA CA 90004). If you are unable to transport the cat yourself, we may be able to arrange transport with a volunteer.
Kittens are fun and cute, but they also have a lot of energy and sometimes need to be taught what is good vs. bad behavior. Adult cats are generally more mellow and self-sufficient.
example: Jackson - cat - 2 years old - M - Russian Blue Tuxedo mix - Shy with people and very gentle. Loves playing and wrestling with other cats.
Sometimes Kitt Crusaders rescues animals with easily-treated but contagious conditions like upper respiratory infections (URIs) or ringworm. For the safety and comfort of your resident animals, we would want to keep the foster cat isolated during treatment.
Isolation may be necessary for kittens, who sometimes carry hidden viruses.
